Julie P. Brett concentrates her practice in the resolution and litigation of complex family law related matters. Ms. Brett represents and assist clients with pre-decree matters including: financial planning; obtaining a dissolution of marriage; establishing paternity; handling child custody and visitation issues; domestic violence; child support; spousal maintenance; division of assets, including drafting qualified domestic relations orders; and creating pre-nuptial agreements. Additionally, Ms. Brett also counsels and represents clients in post-decree matters, including the enforcement, defense and modification of prior support and/or custody and visitation orders in Domestic Relations Court and Paternity Court. She also represents clients in the areas of uncontested adoptions, the establishment of guardianships for minors and disabled adults, and legal change of names. Ms. Brett has given lectures regarding family law matters to local community groups.
